IMPRESSIONS / PERMISSIONS POST

☄ First Impressions

∞ VISUAL: Hanyuu has a mature face, but a youthful appearance. She appears to be in her late twenties, though it's not unlikely to mistake her for a little younger. Long purple hair, waist-length, that matches her eyes. Two black, curved horns on either side of her head. Decent muscles on her arms, but you can't see them a glance. Non-humans are weird like that. Slender.
She doesn't have scars because she could heal from most injuries but! Of note and not in many of her icons because complicated backstory stuff, her left horn has a noticeable chip in it. How each piece of media represents it varies (just a crack, a small sliver, a larger triangle etc.) unfortunately, but my favorite interpretation is the mostly-consistent anime one, wherein it's more of a chunk.
(Incidentally, there's her child-body form, and yet she still looks like a grandma in her choice of pajamas.)
∞ FASHION: Hanyuu is going to show up in an outfit reminiscent of a traditional Shinto shrine maiden, or miko. It consists of three pieces, her haori (kimono jacket), hakama (long, split trousers), and detached furisode-esque sleeves. A good look at her from the waist up is here. In general it tends to be loose and flowing, but not restrictive.
∞ DEMEANOUR: A really simple way of putting it is quiet and dignified! ...Until she opens her mouth.
Hanyuu is awkward and how she's acting honestly depends on the people she's around, but in a neutral setting, she's both distant and unsure and practically vibrating with apprehension about being around so many people. She has an air of stress about her and a wistful longing. She tries to hold herself dignified the less she knows people, but the more you connect with her, the more relaxed and playful she becomes! ...Playful and a bit nervous.
It seems like in her more serious moments she could speak with more authority, and it is underlying in her everyday interactions, but that she can't quite get herself to be a fully serious, strict woman.
∞ AURAL: Hanyuu is voiced by Yui Horie, woman of many roles, and if you're familiar with her in the anime and video games, you're likely used to her higher-register, childish voice. Here, however, to match her physical form, Hanyuu will have a significantly deeper voice. This is a good snapshot of it, and as a bonus you get to hear how her full name is pronounced! That serious tone is what she often uses. For a longer clip, listen to part of this conversation.
When she gets more...excited, or when she's in a relaxed situation, her tone of voice is generally a little higher, an example of both found here. This also serves for when she's worked up. Basically, the more emotion in her voice, the higher it is, but that's generally the highest register it reaches.
For Japanese characters, since the wonderful world of universal translators can't quite capture everything-- she uses the pronoun watashi, which is formal and gender neutral. She tends towards polite sentence structure, with the occasional super-friendly sentence-ender nanodesu that's...very hard to convey in English but will mostly be represented as a little "right?" or "yes?" or "you know?" A tiny burst of informality.
∞ OLFACTORY: She was mostly incorporeal before, but I guess you could say she smells like mountains? The country. Hanyuu's a country girl.
∞ MENTAL INFORMATION: Not applicable to this game!
∞ MAGICAL INFORMATION: I don't think magical auras are incorporated into this game, but on the off-chance they are someone experienced in such a thing could probably tell there's something off about her, but not to what extent. ...Low-key godly aura??

☄ OOC

∞ BACKTAGGING: I am super backtag friendly! I alternate in murdergames between boomerang and...super-not boomerang, but basically unless I am epically bogged down, I'll backtag forever, weeks out.
∞ FOURTHWALLING: Run it by me first, I don't think it'll happen in this game but I have been proven so wrong in the past. She'd probably be confused but you know, she'd roll with it. Maybe.
∞ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Hanyuu's very starved for physical affection, so she'd be surprised but pretty receptive, once she gets used to it, as long as it's nothing too invasive! Hugs, touches, kisses, etc. are fine without asking, let me know about groping in advance! Thanks!
∞ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: We're in a murdergame, fight me irl. Hanyuu will try and defend herself with whatever she has, though! She tends towards swords and, if she absolutely has to, has some wicked claws she can grow.
∞ RELATIONSHIPS: I am so absolutely down for shipping, you have no idea. Ship with me my friends.
∞ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Not to her, but to me. I'm pretty good with most things, but please content warn for suicide, and please alert me in advance if sexual assault or harassment is discussed in threads!

☄ Permissions

∞ RITUAL SACRIFICES: Hanyuu has a history with religious ritual sacrifices! They tend to be gory and brutal, involving violet disemboweling. If you aren't comfortable with that coming up in any potential threads, let me know.
∞ CHILD ABUSE: After a few memory regains, Hanyuu might make reference to physical and emotional child abuse. This likely will not come up in casual conversation, nor will she go into detail, but a little girl she is concerned about with suffers extreme beatings from her uncle, so that's something to watch for. I will always warn for it, but if you'd prefer me to avoid it altogether in potential threads, let me know!
∞ SPOILERS: ...It is kind of impossible to spoiler-warn for Hanyuu as she's an incredibly late-game character with ties to the secrets of the Higurashi world, but if you want me to keep culprit spoilers out of threads (basically the who of the story's overarching who-dunnit) I can try my very best. Let me know here!
